Piano Lessons for 3-6 Year olds
Our Introductory Piano Classes are designed for children aged 3 and over. These sessions run alongside our Piano Lab program, preparing young learners for a seamless transition into our group lessons.
Using the Intro to Music Piano method, which incorporates colour-coded keys, we bridge the gap between toddler music classes and formal piano education. This method makes learning accessible and fun, helping children grasp basic piano skills and music theory from an early age.
By the end of the course, students will be ready to join our Piano Lab groups with a solid foundation in playing, performing, and understanding rhythm. They'll have a head start, having been engaged in making music and enjoying a comprehensive, interactive learning experience.
The Intro to Music Piano method uses a vibrant colour-coded system to make learning piano fun and accessible for young children. With this approach, C is red, D is orange, E is yellow, F is light green, and G is dark green. This visual aid helps children easily identify notes and engage with the music.
In our classes, learning is made fun with games, worksheets, and colouring activities. For preschoolers, we include activities that help them hit their developmental milestones, like recognising letters. This foundation helps them soon identify piano keys. By the end of the course, they’ll be able to read traditional music notation. Our approach is playful and repetitive, making sure these concepts stay with them.
The Intro to Music method includes rhythm videos and activities where children clap along to develop their internal rhythm. These videos come in varying levels, gradually introducing different time values. This helps build a strong rhythmic foundation, preparing them for future studies in the Piano Lab.
